Who we are

Bing Studios LLC is the developer of Sidelyn. Contact: hello@bing-studios.com.

What we collect

• Account: your email address (or the private relay address Apple gives you), the name Apple or Google shares if you allow it, your sign-in method, and an account ID (Firebase Authentication).
• Profile: the display name and avatar color you choose.
• Leagues and game data: the leagues you create or join, and which ones you’ve left (name, invite code, members); your picks (team and points); your tiebreaker guesses; weekly results and standings; and commissioner actions in a league’s log, such as correcting a result or removing a player.
• Notifications: push tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging) let us send weekly recaps. On iPhone, we also use Live Activity tokens to start and update your game-day Live Activity on the Lock Screen. Android’s game-day notification updates from scores received by the app. Pick reminders are scheduled on your device.
• Usage data: Firebase Analytics records how the app is used: app opens and session length; a few events, such as creating or joining a league, saving picks, correcting a result or starting a Live Activity; and a random app-instance ID, the device model, OS and app version, and an approximate country.
• Widgets: on iPhone, Home Screen widget data stays on your device.

On Android, analytics stays off until you sign in. Sidelyn never asks to track you on iPhone, so Apple’s advertising identifier isn’t available to it.

On Android, Firebase Analytics may also collect the device’s advertising identifier when it is available. Sidelyn does not show ads.

Not collected: contacts, photos, precise location, or payment details.

How we use it

To run your leagues (scoring, standings and revealing picks at kickoff), to send the notifications you turn on, to keep accounts secure, and to understand which features get used.

Who sees it

• Your league sees your display name and color, and that you’ve picked a game. After kickoff it sees your picks, and it always sees your points and rank.
• Our service providers: Google, through Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging and Analytics, with game data stored in the United States); Apple (Sign in with Apple and push notifications); and Google Sign-In.
• Scores and schedules come from a sports data provider, and we send it no personal data.

We don’t sell personal data and don’t show ads.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (Profile › Delete account) or at sidelyn.app/delete-account.

We’ll confirm and delete your account within 30 days of receiving your emailed request, or sooner where required by applicable law.

• Deleted for good: your sign-in, your profile, your membership in every league, your saved picks and tiebreaker guesses, and your devices’ notification registrations.
• Your league history: we delete your revealed picks and tiebreakers, your rows in weekly results and standings, and your account ID in league logs from every league you played in, including ones you left. Everyone else’s results are re-ranked without you.
• Leagues you run: each passes to its longest-standing member, and a league left empty is deleted.
• Kept: usage data in Firebase Analytics under a two-month retention setting for user- and event-level data. New activity may extend retention of user identifiers, and aggregated reports may be kept longer.

Children

Sidelyn isn’t directed at children under 13.

Your rights

This policy applies to Sidelyn users worldwide. You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it. Additional rights may apply where you live. Email hello@bing-studios.com.

We’ll publish changes to this policy on this page.

This website

• No tracking scripts and no cookies, so there’s no cookie banner.
• If site analytics are ever added, they’ll be cookieless and listed here.
